Who We Are

About ECDC

“When you see something that needs to be done, do it and use your creativity.”

Since its inception in 1977, Bishop Richard Snead Sr. directed Ecclesia to focus on meeting the needs of the total man by enhancing their quality of life emotionally, educationally, physically, and spiritually. A child care center was started spanning over twenty years servicing children ages 2 ½-to 5 years with a latch-key after-school program for children up to age 13.

We are dedicated to empower, develop and elevate young people and adults through training to reach their highest potential.

ECCLESIA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

ECDC is all about helping the entire family – it takes a village to raise a child. Over the years we have been dedicated to providing resources to the community through informational workshops, community events, and much more.

In our Youth Mentoring Program, we provide recreational activities that promote moral and ethical strengthening.  Through these programs, we encourage self-control, self-esteem, and discipline. Expanding our recreational programs to include young men ages 18-25, which will create a positive atmosphere for them to vent, meet new friends, and network.

In addition, the ECDC Senior Citizen Program provides a comprehensive and holistic program center for educational, social, cultural, medical, recreational, and peer support activities. The program also has a significant congregate meal site in Michigan; serving seniors four days out of a week.  We strive to expand efforts to raise awareness of senior issues within our service area.

Most recently, ECDC has added the Let’s Eat program to the roster. Let’s Eat is a food service and outreach program that provides much needed resources to those in need every month. The outreach program goes a long way to address the growing hunger problems within the City of Detroit.

Let’s build something together.
